Don't Sit.....Go!

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” - Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV

In this text, Jesus gave us, His disciples, what is called “The Great Commission.” This was Jesus’ outline on how the Gospel would continue to spread to all generations. We are called to continue sharing the “good news” of Jesus Christ with those that we come in contact with.

The giving of this challenge by Jesus is a good notification that we are not saved to sit, but we are saved to “go”. The fact is, God does not save us so we can sit, but so we can serve. Just as there is no such thing as a non-functioning member of your human body, so there ought to be no such thing as a non-functioning member of the body of Christ. If God has saved you from your sin, He has called you to serve Him in some way in accordance with your gifts and abilities. And the first and easiest way that we can serve Him is by telling someone else about Him.

Jesus calls us to be the “salt” of the earth. Therefore, your testimony about the goodness of God should cause someone to “thirst” for Him.
