"And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling
cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the
inn." (LUKE 2:7 NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
Who would have thought that the King of kings and the Lord of lords would be
born in a stable? Surely a king belongs in a palace, or at least some stately manor.
But a stable? First, the thought that God would use a young, ordinary girl, one
without any notoriety or prestigious pedigree, to carry and give birth to His Son is
unimaginable. Yet, to allow His Son to be born, not in a home or in a "normal"
place of safety, but outside, under a shelter for animals, in a stable, is
incomprehensible. To think, God would ordain that the first place the Savior of the
world would lay His head would be a manger, a feeding trough for animals, is
unfathomable. But that is exactly what God did. He did send forth His Son in a
way we would not have imagined He would.
Too often we miss what God is doing because we are looking for God to do it the
way we think it should be done. Too many times we miss blessings because we are
expecting God to send them like we think He will or should. One of the lessons of
Jesus birth ought to be that when it comes to God, "expect the unexpected." God
will fulfill His promises. He is going to bless you. But don't box God into what
you think the blessing will be or how it will come. Just expect Him to do it and
keep your eyes open.
1. Are you guilty of missing what God is doing in the “right now” because you
are looking for Him to do it your way?
2. Are you being blinded to the blessing or blessings God is presenting to you
right now because it isn’t packaged the way you expect it to be or done the way
you want it to be done?
3. Is your eyes and mind open to whatever and however God wants to bless
you?
Look around today. See the blessings of God as He gives them to you. Don't miss
your blessing because it isn't packaged in an extravagant Christmas wrapping with
an elegant bow tied around it. Sometimes our blessings are in, what looks like, the
common or the ordinary. But be assured, every blessing of God for your life is
truly UNCOMMON AND EXTRAORDINARY!
