"Then Mary said, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.’ And the angel departed from her . . . For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.” (Luke 1:38 & 48 NKJV)
PONDER THIS
These verses tell us of how Mary is informed by the angel Gabriel that she has been favored by God to carry and give birth to the Lord Jesus, the Savior of the World. Mary was initially fearful of Gabriel's appearance and announcement. Yet, after being assured by the angel that she and the world would be blessed by her sacrifice, she receives the blessing of God by saying, "let it be to me according to your word.” Mary yielded, received and was blessed.
You know, when you think about it, we are reading and talking about Mary today because she yielding to God, receiving the Seed of God, and she was blessed by God. Be assured, God wants to bless you today in the same manor. In fact, God is looking for a people who will yield to Him completely, as Mary did, receiving Him, that He might bless them.
1. Have you and are you yielding to the will of God?
2. Yielding to God is not always comfortable. Are you willing to yield to God even in the most uncomfortable of times and situations?
3. Are you receiving from God what you need to be what He has called you to be?
Today make it a point to YIELD yourself to the Lordship of Jesus the Christ. Allow Him to be master of your life. RECEIVE instruction, direction, correction and even the discipline of the Holy Spirit. And do not miss the opportunity to be BLESSED and to be a blessing. Today YIELD, RECEIVE AND BE BLESSED!
