“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, . . .” (Philippians 3:10, NKJV)
POINTS TO PONDER!
The Apostle Paul writing to the church in Philippi expresses his desire to “know” the resurrected Lord. He declares, his desire to know Jesus and the “power of His resurrection.”
Now, in order for there to be a resurrection, there must first be a death. Paul’s statement was not only an expression of what he wanted “from” God; it was also a declaration of what he was willing to do “for” God. He was willing to die. Give himself up for God.
1. In order for us to “know” or possess all the authority that the Word of God declares we as children of God can possess through Jesus, we must be willing to die.
2. Do you understand and are you willing to die to your fleshly desires, submitting your will to the will of God?
3. Are you willing to die to living life your way for God’s way?
4. Do you wish to have the authority Jesus promised we would have over the enemy? Do you want to live the abundant life Jesus came to give? Then YOU JUST DIE.
Just like Paul, if you want to know and have the “Power of His resurrection, then YOU MUST DIE!
