“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matthew 6:26, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
These are the words of Jesus as He sits with a multitude of very common, some poor, some sick, some needy, mostly very ordinary people. Jesus reminds these people, who the society at that time considered nobodies and nothings, that they have value in the eyes of God. He uses the birds to show that if God loves and takes care of them, He will surely take care of His children who are of more value than the birds.
Let me remind you of the words of Jesus for you today. You are more valuable than the birds. God considers the birds so valuable that He takes care of them. He makes sure they have food, shelter, and all that they need to live. So much so that they are able to sing about God’s care for them. You must know that you are valuable also.
1. What value do you place on yourself?
2. If God considers you valuable doesn’t it make sense for you to see yourself the same?
3. Do you think of your time, your body, your mind, your heart and your spirit as a valuable commodity?
Live your life knowing your worth. Your value. Know that God considers you valuable. Everything about you is a treasure. You are special. You are rare. No, not just rare, you are one of a kind. So know it, believe it and walk in it. YOU ARE VALUABLE!
