"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are
lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if
there be any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8 KJV)
PONDER THIS!
A few weeks ago I asked this same question of the members of the Macedonia
Church of Augusta through our online Bible study. “Where’s Your Head At?” Or
in other words, “What are you thinking?” You see what you think controls your
emotions and your emotions influence your actions. Someone once said, “You
mind is a world unto itself. With it you can make hell out of heaven or heaven out
out of hell.” I totally concur.
Paul in this verse tell us what we “ought” to think so that our lives would be lived
peacefully and productively.
Therefore:
1. Where’s your head at? What thoughts permeate your mind the most?
2. Do you you lean to more optimistic or pessimistic thoughts? Are your
thoughts more positive or negative?
3. Are your thoughts cynical of others causing you to distrust people or do you
think of, look for and expect the good in others?
4. Are your thoughts only for you and your interest or do look out for the
interest of others as well as yourself?
WHERE’S YOUR HEAD AT?
