UNTO GOD WE LOOK

"Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens." (Psalm 123:1, NKJV)

PONDER THIS!

The Psalmist in this Psalm expresses anguish over those who are oppressing and mistreating him. He calls on God for justice and help because there is no one else to call on. All others have failed him. Only God can deliver and make things right in His life.

The reality is that all of us should look to God for our help and assistance. And yet, not only in times of trouble and despair, but we should look to Him for everything. When we seek God only when we are in need, we are acknowledging that God is a resource. Yet when we seek Him for everything, we are declaring the God is our source. The source of all we need and the source of our being.

1. Do you acknowledge by your words and your actions the God is the source of you life or is He just a resource you run to in times of trouble?

2. Isn’t it wonderful to know that you can go to and call on God in every situation?

3. Like the Psalmist it is not a bad thing to call on God in times of trouble. Yet trouble should not be the only time we call out to Him.

We who are mature in the Lord look to God every day. We seek Him everyday. We do not wait until we are in need to seek Him. We acknowledge that we know He is the source of our being. While the world looks to government, social programs and other people for help and assistance, UNTO GOD WE LOOK!
