"But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding." (Job 32:8, NKJV)
These words, spoken by the young acquaintance of Job named Elihu, speak a very power truth to humanity, especially those of us who are in the Body of Christ. Elihu reminds us that there is the Spirit of God within us that gives us understanding of certain matters in our lives. In essence, Elihu says, "You do not have to rely on the advice of others who have limited knowledge of who you are and what God has purposed you for. You can simply look to and trust the Spirit of God that is within you when making life's decisions."
Each one of us are blessed to have the "breath" or the Spirit of God within us. It is the same Spirit of God that gave life to Adam that gives life to us today. Each day we must look to and trust the Spirit of God within us to guide us to make right decisions and give us understanding concerning our purpose and destiny. It is the Spirit of God that gives us peace when we are going right, and it is the Spirit that troubles us and removes peace when we are going wrong.
Trust the Spirit of God within you today. The advice and counsel of others may be welcomed, but weigh the comments of others on the scale of the Spirit of God within you. Remember the words of Elihu, "It is the Breath or Spirit of the Almighty that gives man understanding." TRUST THE SPIRIT WITHIN.
