“And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
This chapter gives us the record of the three nations that teamed up to attack the people of God. The king and the people of Israel were fearful because there were so many enemies coming against them at one time. But the Word of the Lord to the prophet for the people was “Do not be afraid or dismayed . . . for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
1. Do you really know that no matter what attack or attacks are made against you, the battle is not yours, it is God’s?
2. Are you a child of God through faith in Jesus the Christ? If so you should know that as a child of God, whenever something comes against you, it comes against God.
3. Do you feel like you must take on every enemy and defend yourself against every attack? If so you are wasting valuable energy.
4. As the prophet instructed king Jehoshaphat, if you stand firm on your faith and in your faithfulness to God you will find that God will fight for you.
Hold on to what God has told you through personal revelation and in His Word. Hold your head up, declare your victory and watch God work. Hear the prophet’s words spoken through the Holy Spirit reminding you THIS IS NOT YOUR FIGHT!
