THE PLEASING AROMA OF PRAYER

Writer's picture: Bishop Gregory M. FullerBishop Gregory M. Fuller

"Let my prayer be set before You as incense, . . ." ( Psalm 141:2, NKJV)

PONDER THIS!

The Psalmist in this Psalm is calling out to God in his time of trouble and despair. He knows that God honors and considers favorable the sweet smell of incense that continually burns in the tabernacle. Therefore, he ask that God would consider and honor his prayer as the same pleasing smell of incense.

This is what the prayers of God's children are to Him. Incense. A sweet smell. Sincere, heartfelt prayer get's God's attention and honors Him. Prayer acknowledges the glory and the need for God in the life of those who call upon Him. It says that we know we cannot make it without Him and we need Him to survive. Prayer is incense in the nostrils of God.

1. Because prayer is like incense in the nostrils of God, did you burn some incense today?

2. How often do you send the aroma of prayer toward heaven?

3. As incense fills the room with its sweetness so ought every one of us fill heaven with the fragrance of prayer.

Make sure you do not neglect to burn some incense today. Let your prayers go up in thanks, praise and adoration to God. Let him delight in the aroma of the love and affection you feel for Him. Fill heaven with THE PLEASING AROMA OF PRAYER!
