THE HOUSE WAS FILLED

"Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil." (John 12:3 NKJV)

The account of this woman who "breaks" the flask that held expensive perfumed oil and anoints Jesus, just days before his sacrifice on Calvary, is told in all four gospels. Notice what John adds about this event though, "And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil." When the flask was broken, "the house was filled with the fragrance."

God sometimes has to break us, or allow us to be broken, in order to get the best "fragrance" out of us. Do not despise the breaking. Only then can the atmosphere be "filled" with the fragrances of your praise, thanksgiving and worship.

Fill every place you enter today with the "fragrance" of your love for the Lord. Fill your home, automobile, even your workplace or classroom with the “fragrance” of your love for others and praise for God. Let the testimony of every individual who encounters you be, when they are in your presence, "THE HOUSE WAS FILLED," with something beautiful.
