"I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, . . .” (1 Corinthians 1:4 NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
The Apostle Paul, in this verse, expresses his thanks to God for the grace that God has placed upon the Christians who lived in the city of Corinth. Paul informs them that he thanks God for God's grace that was given to them.
Most define grace in terms of "unmerited favor." The favor of God on one's life that is unearned. Grace is granted without merit. Grace is favor that is "freely given."
1. Have you thought about and thanked God for His grace which has been given to you?
2. Too often we go to God in prayer ‘asking” things, but have you just simply thanked God for the “unmerited favor” He has already bestowed upon you?
3. Paul said he thanked God for the grace He gave to others. Have you taken time out to just thank God for the grace He bestowed on someone else? His favor upon someone else’s life?
4. Have you ever taking time out to thank God for the blessings and favor He has bestowed on your marriage, spouse, children, your church or any others?
In this first month of the year, this may be a good time to begin the discipline of just taking time out to THANK GOD FOR HIS GRACE!
