“A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth . . .” (Proverbs
18:20, NKJV)
This verse in the book of Proverbs reminds us of how important words are. The
verse both encourages and warns us that we are satisfied, or filled, by what we say.
In other words, whatever you confess is what you will have. If you speak words of
peace, you will be filled with peace. If you speak words of love, you will be filled
with love. If you speak positive words of affirmation, you will be filled with the
same. Yet, if you speak negative, destructive words, your life will be filled with
this as well.
You must not forget, you will be satisfied by what you say. Be very careful what
you say to yourself and about yourself. Yet, also always remember, “you reap
what you sow.” Be careful of what you say to and of others also. What you wish
upon others has a tendency to come back to you.
Be mindful of what you say during these adverse and troubling times. Make
positive affirmations and confessions. Speak only those things that you want to see
in your life. Remember, you will be SATISFIED BY WHAT YOU SAY!
