“My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” (I John 3:18, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
There is a song written and sung by the late, great, R&B crooner Berry White that I love. The song is entitled, Practice What You Preach. The chorus of that song is as followers:
“you keep telling me this and telling me that,
You say once I'm with you, I'll never go back,
You say there's a lesson that you want to teach,
Well, here I am, baby, practice what you preach.”
Well Berry White’s words are a challenge for every one of us today. You see love is one of those things that is often talked about but seldom practice. Many people speak about love but seldom show it. But love is one of those things that is better demonstrated than talked about. In fact, talking about love is very easy to do. Showing love is not always so simple.
1. Do you show love to those who you come in contact with?
2. Love and those who love don’t just love when they are loved, they love when their love is not reciprocated. Can you and do you love at all times?
3. Would those around you say that you demonstrated love more than you talk about love?
4. The bottom line is this. When it comes to love do you PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH?
