Lack No Good Thing

“The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not

lack any good thing.” (Psalm 34:10, NKJV)

David in this psalm wants to remind the followers of God of the importance and

benefit of seeking the Lord. It is of great importance and even of necessity that we

seek the Lord’s guidance, His will, His way and Him through His Word. David

tells us that even the young lion, the symbol of strength, power and vitality, with

all of his might, will still find himself at times wanting. But those who seek the

Lord will never lack “any good thing.” God Himself will make a way for those

who seek Him.

Now, I know personally that there are times when God does allow us to go through

“periods” of lack. A season of wanting, longing and need. This period, most

often, God allows for two purposes: one, to remind us of where our help and

supply comes from; two, to get us to draw near to Him. To cause us to rely totally

upon Him. Yet, I also know that God steps in “right on time” to replenish and to

restore.

Let us always be mindful to seek the Lord. Seek His will for your life. Seek His

way for living life. Seek His presence daily in your life. Remember, the strong

and the mighty may suffer lack, but those who seek the Lord will LACK NO

GOOD THING.
