“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
Jesus speaks these words of empowerment and encouragement to a multitude of, what most would consider, just plan, ordinary people. This was not the elite, well-to-do, socialite crowd. These were just ordinary, many poor, destitute, average and even socially below average individuals. It is to this crowd that Jesus says, “You are the light of the world . . .”
Jesus is saying the same thing to you today. No matter what social, economic, emotional or intellectual state you might be in, “You are the light of the world.” The question is, HOW BRIGHT IS YOUR LIGHT?
1. Does your life reflect the light of Jesus when others see you?
2. Light changes the entire aura of a room. Does your presence change the room when you enter? If so, How? In a good way or a not so good way?
3. Do people sense the peace, see the glow (glory) and feel the warmth of God when they are in your presence?
4. Light does its best work in darkness. Are you shining even in the midst of the darkest of times and in the worst situations?
HOW BRIGHT IS YOUR LIGHT!
