“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; . . .” (Genesis 17:1, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
Many of us are familiar with God’s promises to Abram, later renamed Abraham. We learned in Sunday School how God called Abram out of his father’s house with the promise that if he left, God would bless him and his offspring. We know how God blessed him with a son when he was one hundred years old and his wife Sarah ninety years of age. To those who view this account as merely a good story or a biblical “fairy tale” I say to you, “YOU DON’T KNOW OUR GOD.”
You see, as God told Abram, He still is “Almighty God.” There is nothing that God can’t do. There is no problem too hard for Him to solve. There is no situation He can’t fix. He has no enemy or competition to rival His greatness or authority. He is Almighty God.
1. Do you know and believe that God is almighty?
2. Do you have faith in His “almighty-ness.”
3. Do you believe that God uses His “almighty-ness” for and in your favor?
4. Do you believe that just as God fulfilled His promises to Abraham, He can and will fulfill His promises to you?
You can rest on His promises. You can have confidence in His might. When you are going through tough times, you can take courage that your deliverer will bring your deliverance right on time. You can encourage yourself in the midst of your trials, simply because you know, HE IS STILL ALMIGHTY!
