“casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (I Peter 5:7, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
There is a wonderful hymn of the church that I love entitled, WHAT A FRIEND
WE HAVE IN JESUS. In this old hymn the writer pens the words, “Oh what peace
we often forfeit, Oh what needless pains we bear, All because we do not carry,
Everything to God in prayer.” I love that stanza.
When you think about it, these words are so true. We forfeit much peace and many
blessings in life because we try to carry all our burdens and problems by ourselves.
The word of God admonishes us to, cast, “all” our cares upon Him. For we have
the assurance that He cares for us.
1. What are you carrying that you just need to give to Jesus?
2. Why be content to carry a weight around that burdens you, slows your
progress and keeps you from living the life you were ordained to live?
3. It is time for you to be free. Free from the weights and burdens of guilt and
shame from past sins and shortcomings.
God beckons us, “Give it to me.” “Come to me.” “Cast it upon me.” Therefore,
do not hold back. Do not try to do it all by yourself. You do not have to carry it all
on your own. He is waiting for you. You can GIVE IT ALL TO HIM.
