FAITHFUL OVER A FEW THINGS

"His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’" (Matthew 25:21)

PONDER THIS!

These words spoken by Jesus are taken from the familiar parable of the talents. You remember? One person was given five talents. Another person was given two talents. The last was given one talent. The two who returned to their master having increased on what they were given heard the approving words of their master, "well done . . ." The one who returned not having gained an increase with his talent heard from the master, "You wicked and lazy servant." He did not use his talent wisely and therefore, what he had was taken from him and given to another. The message of this parable for us today is, if we are faithful over what we already have, no matter how small, we will gain the trust of our heavenly Father and He will reward us with greater.

We are encouraged to thank God for what we already have and be faithful in caring for what God has already given.

1. I know you might have wants and needs but have you thanked God for what He has already blessed you with?

2. Would you say you are a good steward (caretaker) of what God has given you?

3. Do you use what God has given to you wisely?

You might not have what you want at the moment, but if you are faithful with what you do have, the “few things,” God will reward you with much more in due time. God is looking at your stewardship. How you appreciate and take care of what you have been given. If you can thank and praise God for the little things, God will entrust you with greater things. Your heavenly Father rewards all those who are FAITHFUL OVER A FEW THINGS!
