“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;” (Philippians 4:6,
NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
Yesterday I shared with you the things we “ought” to think about as instructed
from Philippians 4:8, “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are
lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be
any praise, think on these things.”
The fact is, if we did what Philippians 4:8 tells us to do, we would have need of
Paul’s admonishment in Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing . . .” Anxiousness
or worry comes when we are thinking too much about the wrong things. Paul is
telling us, in essence, “Don’t worry about anything, just pray, ask God for what
you want or need, give Him thanks in advance and you will have peace.”
1. Are you a worrier?
2. Do you tend to spend time worrying about everything?
3. You ever worry about something and then find out that what you worried
about never took place or never materialized? You stressed yourself out over
nothing.
4. Do you know worrying causes stress that effects every aspect of your life,
health, spirit, emotions, etc.?
Just trust God and know that God has got you. Think only good, constructive
thoughts. Someone said, “Worrying is like rocking in a rocking chair. You are
doing a lot of moving but you’re not going anywhere.” Whatever comes your way
that might seem negative or challenging, trust God and DON’T WORRY ABOUT
IT!
