"Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so. Do not say to your neighbor, 'Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it,' When you have it with you." (Proverbs 3:27&28, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
Solomon here gives us wise counsel as to how to bless others and in turn, be blessed. He tells us that we must not withhold our generosity when we have the opportunity to bless others. When we have the power or the resources to be a blessing to someone, we must not delay or hold back from blessing them.
We must remember the countless number of times we have been in need of assistance and God provided someone to come to our aid. Also, we must never forget that life has a way of turning things around. There yet might come a time when we will be in need of someone to bless us. Remember the old adage, "No one is an island?” There will be a time in the future when all of us will need something from someone else. It may just be a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or maybe financial assistance. God has designed it so that we all need each other.
1. Do you know that no matter what youR state in life, at this very moment, you can be a blessing to someone else?
2. Often time we think blessing some is purely monetary. Do you know you can bless someone and change their life with just a kind word, a smile or a statement of encouragement?
3. Who have you blessed today?
4. Did you awake this morning and ask the Lord to show you who you can bless today?
Never forget to be a blessing to someone when you see or hear of an individual in need. God does not bless us so we might boast of our being blessed. God blesses us so that we might be a blessing to someone else. Keep your eyes and ears open today for someone in need. When that person is revealed, DON'T WITHHOLD YOUR FAVOR!
