COMFORT OTHERS

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." (2 Corinthians 1:3&4, NKJV)

POINTS TO PONDER!

Isn’t it wonderful to know that we have a God who is there to comfort us when we go through and are going through life’s difficulties? It is a blessing just to be reassured that no matter what we go through, our heavenly Father is right by our side letting us know we are going to make it. We can do it. The battle is not ours, but His. We are never alone. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. When we need Him, He is always there. Yet, we must always remember, “to whom much is given, much is required.”

As we are comforted, God expects us to give comfort (encouragement) to others as well. Sometimes, we get so busy and so self-absorbed until we forget that someone else is in need of a word of encouragement as well. As we have been comforted, we should, in turn, comfort someone else.

1. As you go through the day try to be so in tuned to the feelings and concerns of others that you are able to give someone else a word of encouragement.

2. Let the tuner of your spirit be set on the frequency someone else’s heart that you are able to pick up on any interference they may be dealing with and help them to become in tuned to the frequency of God’s love and care for them.

3. As you have been blessed by God’s love in carrying you through your troubled times be a blessing today to others that they too may become a blessing to someone else.

Remember, God blesses us to be a blessing. As God has given, you give. As God has blessed, you bless. As God has comforted you, COMFORT OTHERS!
