PONDER THIS!
The writer of the book of Luke gives commentary of why Jesus began the proceeding parable about prayer. Luke informs us that Jesus spoke these parables to remind us that we ought always to pray.
We hear it stated in church all the time, “there is power in prayer.” Do you know three of the many reasons why prayer has power for the believer?
1. In prayer we are acknowledging God as sovereign of our lives. Prayer says to God that we know He is the ruler and head of our lives.
2. Secondly, in prayer we are acknowledging God as the source, strength, and guide of our lives. Prayer says to God, “I am relying completely on You for my well being and without You I can do nothing.”
3. Lastly, in prayer we seek to know the Will of God so that we might live our lives honoring Him by glorifying Him in our everyday living.
Those of us who are children of God know that prayer is not an option. In these most challenging of times prayer is a necessity. Therefore, we must not neglect to ALWAYS PRAY!
