“ . . . giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.” (2 Peter 1:5-7, NKJV)
For many years, some time ago, I would pray to the Lord to give me more faith. Going through difficult times I would ask the Lord to increase my faith so I might trust Him and not give up. One morning after praying that prayer, then going to the scripture, the Lord hit me with this revelation. While reading these verses the Spirit of God clearly said to me, “You don’t need more faith. You just need to add these seven attributes to your faith.” What a blessed revelation.
PONDER THIS!
1. Be honest now. Were you like me and believed you just needed “MORE” faith to make it through your tough times?
2. Did you and do you sometimes ask God to give you MORE faith?
3. Are each of these seven attributes Peter encourages us to “add” to our faith a part of your faith make-up?
4. Doesn’t it make sense that our character, for these seven are character traits, influences and determines the manifestation of our faith?
Chances are you do not need any more faith. You simply need to add these seven attributes to your faith. In doing so, you will see and feel great changes taking place in your life. Just be diligent, to ADD TO YOUR FAITH.
