A NEW MIND

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, . . ." (Romans 12:2 NKJV)

Praise God He has brought us through and to this place in another year. We know, whether it be the last day of the year, the first day of the year or the middle of the year, it is God who brought us. Through one year with all its challenges and struggles, and to another year with all its possibilities and potential. What a mighty God we serve!

Many people are and have been making resolutions and promises. Some of these resolutions are concerning their health and living a healthier lifestyle. Some are spiritual and religious in nature, resolving to live for and do more for God. Some are concerning the achieving of certain financial goals. And some are resolutions concerning personal relationships with friends and family. Resolutions for the most part are not bad things, but we must know, if there is no transformation of the mind, there is no change of conditions.

The truth of the matter is, IF YOU WANT YOUR LIFE TO CHANGE, YOU MUST CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK. Our thoughts control our feelings and our feelings influence our actions. I say it often, "first you think it, then you do it." It all begins in your mind. Bring your thoughts under captivity and under control and watch your life transform as well. You want to be prosperous? You must think prosperous thoughts. You want to be happy? You must bring under captivity unhappy thoughts. You want to be blessed? Don't complain about what you don't have and be thankful for what you already have. The new "you" begins with you thinking new thoughts.

As we make our resolutions and promises for the new year or a new day, as we celebrate the dawning of this new season with expectation, let us not be content just to rejoice because we have entered into something new. Let us not be deceived into believing that making new resolutions will bring about a change in our lives. But rather, let us all be guaranteed of change by covenanting that we will begin each new day, with A NEW MIND.
