“The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; . . .” (Nahum 1:7, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
The prophet Nahum reminds us of the protection and security we have in God. The prophet reminds us that God is our “stronghold in the day of trouble.”
A stronghold is much like a fort. In many cases, strongholds were surrounded by two or three high walls. Armed guards would be positioned atop the walls with various weapons available to defend the city and citizens. Those who were within the confines of the stronghold found peace and security from any and all enemies.
1. Do you know and believe that God is your stronghold and protection?
2. Isn’t it comforting and reassuring to know you have and you are protected by God?
3. We can walk with confidence and live at peace knowing God has got us protected.
Nahum assures us that God is our stronghold. We can rest and be at peace in times of attack and trouble, knowing that we are completely protected. We must know that with God we are shielded and secure within the confines of God’s love and care. When trouble comes, you can rest in the assurance that God loves you and will shield you from any and all of the enemy’s devices. There is nothing that can penetrate God’s protection. Rest in it. Have confidence in it. Confess and believe it. God is YOUR STRONGHOLD IN A TIME OF TROUBLE!
