“And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” (Mark 5:18&19, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
These words of Jesus are spoken to the man who had just been delivered from being possessed by many demons. These demons had so taken control of this man’s life that his very identity was taken away from him. When Jesus asked his name the man replied, not with the name his father named him as a child, but rather by the amount of demons living in him, “Legion.” Jesus, in turn, cast the legion of demons out of the man. Because Jesus worked this miracle in his life, the man requested to go with Jesus. But Jesus did not allow him to do so, telling the man in essence, “Go home to your family and friends, and tell them the great things God has done for you.” The man in turn went and proclaimed what Jesus had done for him in Decapolis. “Deca” means ten and “polis” means cities. Therefore, the man did not just go home and testify. He testified of what Jesus had done for him in “ten cities.”
1. Can you, like this man, testify that God has done great things for you?
2. This man went to ten cities and testified. Are you ashamed to tell what God has done for you?
3. Are you excited about the blessings of God in your life? So excited that you can’t keep it to yourself?
4. If God has blessed you, redeemed you, healed you, saved you, this is your time to TESTIFY!
