“Then Moses said to the Lord, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. . . . And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Exodus 33:12&14, 15, NKJV)
PONDER THIS!
In this scripture Moses is commanded by God to lead Israel from the wilderness to the land of promise. Israel has been disobedient to God in many ways and now God initially says He will not go up with them, but will send an angel with Israel. But to Moses, an angel is not good enough. An angel is not God. Moses knows he needs God Himself in order to fulfill the assignment of his life.
1. Have you ever tried to go it alone without God? What was the outcome?
2. Have you ever been like Moses and just had to tell God you need Him and Him alone for what you were going through?
3. We praise God for the angels. They are our messengers and protectors from heaven. But nothing takes the place of God Himself.
4. Every day we should wake up and tell God like Moses, “If you won’t go with me, I won’t go.” We should declare emphatically, “I WON’T GO WITHOUT GOD!”
